Desert Eagle
To-scale 3D model of a Desert Eagle .50 AE, based on official blueprints. Originally intended as a 3D-printed display piece, the project was adapted into a real-time Unreal Engine render.

Key features
-
Accurate Scale & Detail - Modelled using official blueprints for precise proportions.
-
Real-Time Rendering - Adapted for Unreal Engine, presented in a diorama-style scene.
Software

Challenges and solutions
Adapting the Project for Unreal Engine
The original goal was to 3D print the model, paint it gold, and display it. However, my 3D printer broke during a house move, leaving the project unfinished.
Solution:
-
Rather than letting the model go to waste, I optimised the mesh for real-time rendering.
-
I textured it in Substance Painter to create realistic metal surfaces as well as wear and tear.
-
The final piece was rendered inside Unreal Engine and placed in a small diorama to enhance presentation.

Final Results & Impact
This project demonstrates technical adaptability, turning a personal display piece into a polished digital prop. The accurate modelling, realistic texturing, and real-time rendering showcase expertise in hard-surface modelling and presentation techniques.
